Abstract: The stratigraphy of three cored drillholes, CPDD001-003, which were drilled through Neoproterozoic succession of the Amadeus Basin at the Pipeline Prospect in HALE RIVER, has been revised. The revision consists of updating the stratigraphic nomenclature in line with the newly amended stratigraphy of the Neoproterozoic succession of the Amadeus Basin. These revisions comprise the upgrade of the Bitter Springs Formation to Bitter Springs Group, the reassignment of the Gillen and Loves Creek members to formations of the Bitter Springs Group, and the formalisation of the 'Johnnys Creek beds' as Johnnys Creek Formation (the uppermost unit of the Bitter Springs Group). The revisions also include the formalisation of the 'finke beds' as the Wallara Formation, which overlies the Bitter Springs Group.
The revision of the drillholes' stratigraphy also includes some changes to the units identified. Drillhole CPDD001 now includes the Aralka Formation and the Areyonga Formation. The Aralka Formation has also been identified in drillhole CPDD002. Drillhole CPDD003 has the most stratigraphic revisions and now includes the Areyonga, Johnnys Creek, and Wallara formations.
