| Abstract: | Sensitive High Resolution Ion Micro Probe (SHRIMP) U–Pb detrital zircon dating was conducted on eleven sandstone samples from the greater McArthur Basin of the Northern Territory. Samples were collected from Palaeo- to Mesoproterozoic formations of the McArthur, Habgood, Nathan and Roper groups (McArthur Basin), and from the Limbunya Group (Birrindudu Basin). Four ungrouped units from the northern McArthur Basin were also analysed. All samples yielded multiple detrital age populations. |
