Abstract: | The results of new LA–ICP–MS U–Pb zircon and apatite chronologic studies are reported for six rock samples from the Jervois mineral field, Jervois Range1, in the northeastern Aileron Province of the Arunta Region. All six samples were collected nearby to polymetallic base metal mineralisation. The analysed rocks include a pegmatite from the Green Parrot deposit, two pegmatites from the Reward deposit, a metagabbro sill near to the Reward deposit, and two undetermined metamorphosed felsic rocks of either sedimentary or volcanic protolith from near the Rockface and Bellbird deposits. These samples were targeted for zircon and apatite dating in order to determine magmatic crystallisation, metamorphic/hydrothermal disturbance or maximum depositional ages. These analyses were conducted to constrain relative timing of mineralisation and associated alteration. |
